Completely New End Mills From Iscar Can Boost Productivity While Lowering Costs
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in several milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree carbide end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern omits harmonic vibration, the central source of chatter. This allows faster cutting and superior finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, users also report greater edge life due to diminished chatter. The chatter-free feature is available in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's Multi-Master replaceable-tip line. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for Multi-Master tips. These completely new endmills are ideal for lower power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide variant can achieve full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capability on the replaceable-tip version is more moderate since the active length is shorter. In full slotting applications on alloy steel, the solid carbide build efficiently handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.
Finishred - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills
Iscar is announcing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a revolutionary solid carbide end mills family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a mixture of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more briskly and accurately than classical endmills. However, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. In repercussion, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill has to be used in order to obtain a smooth surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and inevitably of keeping two endmill types in the inventory.
Benefits of the Finishred Endmills:
The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature 4 flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.
The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially farther from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes banish the grooves induced by the roughing flutes, leaving a fine surface finish.
The tool is fully competent and allows running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.
The notable tool design decreases vibration at high load applications.
The tool creates short and long chips concurrently. This chip mixture is evacuated more easily than each individual chip type, an excellent solution in slotting and cavity milling operations.
The Finishred is also obtainable with the Multi-Master indexable milling head option which merges the Finishred includes with the advantage of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the comprehensive range of shank and extension choices are accessible for the Multi-Master milling heads.
A single tool replaces the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore lowering stock.
Tool change and setup time can be omitted.
An added tool position is attained on the machine
New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for Elevated Metal Removal Rates
ISCAR is introducing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The revolutionary endmills are offered with 3 and four 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with decreased neck diameter, which facilitate machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting element and force distribution can be used very adequately on low power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge includes flat peaks which leave a enhanced surface finish, in comparison to the current rougher carbide endmills. The ECP endmills are endorsed for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well. All of the preliminary tests conducted at many customers' locations showed exceptional results.
Some Of Advancements In Carbide Inserts Provided By Iscar Over The Past Decade Iscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, decreased cutting forces resulting in better performance.
Many Developments Have Expanded Iscar's Line Of Indexable Endmills For Expanded Productivity Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.
Original Cutters And Carbide Insert Shapes From Iscar To Better Enhance The Machining Process Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.
Iscar Recently Made Public Many New Lines To Extend Their Family Of Milling Cutters Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
Iscar Offers A Brand New Line Of Slitting Cutters Using Tang-Grip Technology And The Sturdiness Of Sumo Tec Grades Iscar now offers a family of high-performance slitting tools that combine the convenience and security of Tang-Grip clamping with the added durability of the new Sumo Tec insert grades. The concept, already proven successful in Tang-Grip parting tools, has now been extended to slitting cutters.
